My friend Peter suggested that I might try my hand at doing portraits of pets. He said there are many people who would much prefer a painting of their pet than themselves. We have a cat named Ferris Bueller-known to everyone simply as "Ferris". I don't particularly like cats: I consented to get him when all my attempts to catch mice with traps failed. Ferris earns his keep. Also, as I live in a house with two daughters and a wife, Ferris is the only domestic male companionship I have. I am embarrassed to admit that we have developed a close relationship over the years (I even talk to him.), so it seemed he should be honored with a portrait.
